Faith Baptist Church began in October, 1982 when Pastor Richard Jones and a small group of ten believers met in Paul Hooker's cabin on Sauratown Mountain Road to pray and to discern God's will concerning planting an independent Baptist church in this area.

As this small group met for three services weekly the Lord added to their number in an astonishing way with conversions to Christ on a regular basis.

Plans were then made to construct a new building and this was built in November 1983 with most of the work being done by the men of the church through work parties with the women of the church providing meals for the workers.

In 1987 the church had a family center building constructed for fellowship meetings and other church activities and ministries.

Then in 1994 the members moved into a newly constructed building with an auditorium and Sunday School classes which were needed to accommodate the church membership and it presently serves as a beautiful and comfortable meeting place in which to worship and serve the Lord.
